| 8th August, 2006 - 7:02 pm | mlb.com - The Mets addressed their need for a left-handed-hitting reserve Tuesday when they claimed veteran outfielder Ricky Ledee off waivers from the Dodgers.
Ledee had been placed on waivers Monday night and the Mets quickly filled the void created over the course of the season when switch-hitter Jose Valentin and left-handed-hitting Endy Chavez assumed more regular roles with the team.
For Ledee, 32, the Mets' move constitutes a homecoming of sorts. He began his big-league career with the Yankees in 1998. [READ] |
