Mets Have Eye On Wells

New York Post - While the Mets have yet to hold any discussions with the Blue Jays about it, GM Omar Minaya is looking at ways he can bring Vernon Wells to Shea Stadium to play alongside Carlos Beltran.

Toronto is attempting to sign Wells to an extension, but could look to deal him in return for quality young arms.

Unless the Blue Jays' brass feels that they won't be able to sign him to an extension and are blown away by an offer, they are likely to hold onto him until July and could make a deal then if they are in not in playoff contention. [READ]
