A-Rod Fastest To 14 Home Runs

AP - Alex Rodriguez became the first player in major league history to hit 14 homers in the first 18 games of a season.

Rodriguez lined a 2-2 pitch into the left field stands to tie the AL record for home runs in April and pull within one of the major league record set by Albert Pujols in 2006. He's the first Yankee to have 14 homers and 34 RBIs in a calendar month since Roger Maris in July 1961.

A-Rod hit his 14th home run of the season in the ninth inning, as the Yankees lost to the Devil Rays 10-8. [READ]
