Ump Admits Blowing Key Call In Yankee Loss

New York Post - Second base umpire Gerry Davis ruled Seattle pinch-runner Willie Bloomquist was safe on a stolen base, when Bloomquist looked out by a couple of feet. It was a call so bad and so wrong, it’s not worth denying. Even Davis admitted booting it.

“I didn’t miss the play,” he told reporters after the Yankees’ 3-2 loss to Seattle. “I kicked the [bleep] out of it.
