Associated Press - Yankees' owner George Steinbrenner said that his general manager, Brian Cashman, is on the hook for the team's 2007 results.

"We hope we have turned it around," Steinbrenner said about the Yankees' improved play of late. "He's on a big hook," Steinbrenner said of Cashman. "He wanted sole authority. He got it. Now he's got to deliver."

Steinbrenner also had comments for Jason Giambi and the latter's recent statements seeming to apologize for the use of performance-enhancing drugs. "He should have kept his mouth shut," Steinbrenner said. "The matter is in the hands of the baseball commissioner."

Steinbrenner thinks the return of Roger Clemens will help the Yankees' fortunes this season. "I think Roger is capable of sparking the team. He is a veteran and will bring stability. I am happy he is coming back. I love him."

Concerning manager Joe Torre, Steinbrenner said "we are not considering a change." [READ]
