| 9th June, 2007 - 5:29 pm | New York Post - Gary Sheffield praised Bobby Abreu, the man who replaced him in right field for the Yankees, but the Tigers' slugger believes the Bombers certainly could use what Sheffield offers.
"Bobby Abreu's a great player and that's the thing. But like I said before, I feel like I fit in that lineup quite well," Sheffield said. "I drove in 120-something runs every year that I was healthy and to say that that's not needed there, that's a far stretch.
"But like I said, you have to do it the whole year in New York, and you have to do it under a lot of scrutiny. And I figured [Abreu] probably would have a better year this year because he had a great second half when he came over in the trade when he helped us get to where we were. He might turn it around."
