Yankees Sign Two Players From The People's Republic Of China

Yahoo.com - The Yankees on Monday became the first MLB team to sign players from the People's Republic of China.

New York signed lefthanded pitcher Kai Liu and catcher Zhenwang Zhang to minor-league contracts.

"This is an exciting opportunity for us to integrate Chinese players in to the organization," New York senior vice president and GM Brian Cashman said. "We believe that this is the start of something we can develop further as we work toward our commitment to help grow the game of baseball in China." [READ]
