Damon May Hit DL Tuesday

The Star-Ledger - Johnny Damon will try not to swing a bat at all this weekend in an effort to help his sore right rib cage improve.

"If not, I'll be on the DL on Tuesday," Damon said.

Damon will not take batting practice nor swing in the indoor batting cages, and the Yankees will try to avoid using him in the games against the San Francisco Giants. Manager Joe Torre said Damon will not start any of the three games.

"We're going to play it out this weekend, and just see if we can minimize the use," Torre said, "and see where we are." [READ]
