A-Rod Strains Left Hamstring
3rd July, 2007 - 10:27 am
Newsday - Alex Rodriguez's day began badly, picked up and then got much worse yesterday.

The big blow was when he left last night's game in the sixth inning with a strained left hamstring. Rodriguez injured his hamstring while trying to beat out a throw to first base. He beat the throw, but had to be replaced later in the inning with a pinch runner.

"Right now I'm just a little sore, a little tender," Rodriguez said. "I pulled a hammy before and I couldn't even walk off the field." Rodriguez is day-to-day and said he hopes to avoid the disabled list.

Rodriguez was examined by team physician Stuart Hershon and will be re-evaluated today. [READ]
