Rivera Moves To No. 3

The Star-Ledger - With his save yesterday, Mariano Rivera tied John Franco for third all-time in career saves with 424.

"It's all right," Rivera said of the milestone. "The most important thing is that we won the game. It's not about myself. It's about the team."

"Mo, as far as I'm concerned, is the best," said Torre, the Yankees' manager. "You know that he's not going to unravel. It's such a reassuring thing."

Current San Diego closer Trevor Hoffman is the all-time leader with 506 saves, and Lee Smith is second with 478. [READ]
