Hideki Matsui homered in both games, Alex Rodriguez hit his 33rd home run of the season and 497th of his career and reliever Luis Vizcaino became the first Yankee pitcher in 37 years to win both games of a doubleheader in the sweep.
New York scored 24 runs on 28 hits in the two games.
"It was great," Joe Torre told reporters. "We were swinging the bats and that really made a big difference for us. We had some tired puppies out there but they never gave up an at-bat." [READ] |
