Rangers Are Pushing Teixeira On Yankees?

New York Post - While the Rangers are pushing switch-hitting first baseman Mark Teixeira hard on the Yankees, they aren’t biting. Especially since the Rangers have eyes for stud pitching prospect Joba Chamberlain.

“They have told teams (Chamberlain) is untouchable,” an AL talent evaluator said of the Yankees, who are very close to promoting Chamberlain and Ian Kennedy from Double-A Trenton to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Chamberlain could be in the big leagues soon as a late-inning reliever since Kyle Farnsworth, Scott Proctor and Brian Bruney have been inconsistent and Luis Vizcaino has been effective in the middle innings. [READ]
