AP - The Red Sox traded outfielder Wily Mo Pena and cash to the Nationals on Friday for a player to be named.

The deal let Boston clear a roster spot for pitcher Clay Buchholz. The Red Sox purchased his contract from Triple-A Pawtucket and the righty made his major league debut in the opener of Friday's day-night doubleheader against the Angels. [READ]
