Mussina: "I Really Don't Feel As If I Can Do Anything Right"

Newsday - In the 12 starts leading up to these awful three outings, Mike Mussina went 6-4 with a 3.54 ERA. He averaged 6.14 innings per start in that stretch, and allowed more than three earned runs only once. He won his final four starts in that time.

In Mussina’s latest three starts, he is 0-3 with a 17.69 ERA.

“It’s not good," said Mike Mussina. "Two weeks ago, I felt really good about the way I was throwing the balll. … Two weeks later, it’s completely at the other end of the spectrum. I really don’t feel as if I can do anything right.

“Probably the last nine innings are the worst nine innings I’ve pitched in my entire life in a row.” [READ]
