Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel - With their flickering playoff hopes finally extinguished Friday night, the Milwaukee Brewers face a sobering reality today they never could have imagined earlier in the season.

The Brewers must split their remaining two games merely to assure their first winning season in 15 years.

That's not the scenario the Brewers envisioned when they spent a whopping 133 days in first place in the National League Central but it all came crashing down during a late season 10-game swoon they could not afford. [READ]
