Report: Yankees Finish Interviews For Manager

Yahoo.com - The interviews are complete, and all that's left for the Yankees is to make the choice for their next manager.

Tony Pena, the third and final candidate, interviewed for the position Wednesday in Tampa, Florida, according to the New York Times.

Afterward, Hank Steinbrenner, the son of principle owner George Steinbrenner, said there would be no more interviews, meaning the successor to Joe Torre will come from among Pena, Yankees' bench coach Don Mattingly and former Florida Marlins' manager Joe Girardi.

Citing sources, the Times reported that Mattingly made a strong impression on Hank Steinbrenner during his interview on Tuesday - even though he is the only candidate without previous managerial experience. [READ]
