Steinbrenner: Yankees In 'Agreement' On New Manager

New York Daily News - The Yankees don't plan on doing any business over the weekend, but it appears the club has settled on its choice for a new manager.

Who that choice is, however, remains to be seen.

Hank Steinbrenner said Friday at Legends Field in Tampa that the baseball operations group and ownership are on the same page when it comes to the decision between Joe Girardi, Don Mattingly and Tony Peña.

"I can tell you at this point, the family and the baseball people are pretty much in agreement," Steinbrenner said. "We are close; still a few details to work out and some more thinking on it. That's about it." [READ]
