Yanks Expected To Name Girardi Manager Tuesday
30th October, 2007 - 8:26 am
New York Daily News - Joe Girardi officially was offered the Yankees' managerial job Monday, though the two sides had yet to work out a contract as of Monday evening. That is expected to take place Tuesday, with the team set to make the announcement Tuesday afternoon on a conference call.

"They've expressed interest, and we're having discussions," Steve Mandell, Girardi's agent, said when reached by the Daily News Monday night. "We have no further comment beyond that."

It is likely that Girardi will receive a three-year deal worth about $6 million, which would average out to $2 million per season. Only six managers earned at least that much this season, led by Joe Torre's $7.5 million. [READ]
