Santana Talks Remain Open But Quiet

Boston Herald - The Red Sox, Yankees and Mets remain the top candidates to be Johan Santana’s next home, and a Sox source yesterday indicated that nothing had changed since last week’s Winter Meetings ended in Tennessee.

The Sox have the most patience in this waiting game. The Twins also appear comfortable playing this out for as long as they want.

The Red Sox are not expected to make any significant changes to their pair of offers, one involving center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury and prospects, the other consisting of Jon Lester, Coco Crisp and prospects.

So far, that is not good enough for the Twins, just as the Yankees and Mets have not significantly tweaked their best offers as well. [READ]
