Jocketty Could Have Had Adviser Job With Yankees, Padres, Or Mariners

Pioneer Press - Minneapolis native Walter Jocketty, who was general manager for two St. Louis Cardinals' World Series clubs, has been named special adviser to Cincinnati Reds' CEO Bob Castellini. Insiders say Jocketty declined similar positions with the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Mariners. Had he wanted, it's a good bet he could have been the GM in waiting (two years) of the Yankees. [READ]
