Pirates, Sanchez Close To Agreement On Three-Year Deal

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - A deal between the Pirates and Freddy Sanchez could become official in just a few days, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

They are close to agreeing on a three-year deal to keep the All-Star second baseman in Pittsburgh through 2010. His current contract would have allowed him to become a free agent after the 2009 season. [READ]
