Pirates Agree To Two-Year Deal With Sanchez

ESPN.com - Pirates' second baseman Freddy Sanchez agreed on a contract that could be worth $19 million over three seasons, according to ESPN.com.

The deal is for two years $11 million guaranteed and includes a third-year $8 million option that will vest if Sanchez reaches a designated threshold based on plate appearances.

The contract potentially locks up Sanchez with the Pirates through his first year of free agency in 2010. [READ]
