'Moneyball' Subject Brown Set To Retire

ESPN - Catcher Jeremy Brown, one of the central players in the infamous "Moneyball" book on Billy Beane, is planning to retire, according to the Associated Press.

"It's a shame. The kid could really hit. We certainly understand his family's more important at this point," Beane told the AP on Friday. "It caught us a little by surprise. Things like this, personal issues, come up. ... It's absolutely an open door."
