Tom Gordon To Close For Phillies

The Philadelphia Inquirer - With Brad Lidge injured, there is a strong likelihood that Tom Gordon will be closing for the Phillies, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Gordon doesn't seem to care whether he's closing games or setting them up for Lidge this season.

"Nobody likes to lose a job," Gordon told the Inquirer on Monday. "I felt healthy enough like I was ready to compete [for the closer's job]. Knowing that Lidge is here, he's the closer. I'm the eighth-inning guy. I can handle that. I've done that before. I've handled that role. I've had success in that role. Right now for me, it's about winning a World Series." [READ]
