Jeter Leaves Yanks' Win With Strained Quad

MLB.com - Derek Jeter left New York's victory over Tampa Bay on Monday night in the second inning after straining his left quadriceps muscle, according to MLB.com.

Manager Joe Girardi has ruled him out of the team's game against Kansas City on Tuesday, but Jeter has other ideas.

"My timetable is tomorrow," Jeter said Monday night. "But I don't think that's going to work out. We'll see how it feels."

"He will not play tomorrow," Girardi added, "no matter what he tells me."

Girardi admitted that he has already entertained the idea of shifting Alex Rodriguez over from third to shortstop for the time being. [READ]
