Sammy Sosa Considering Retirement

The Chicago Tribune - Sammy Sosa is considering officially retiring if a team doesn't offer him a contract in the near future, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"Right now, I am not officially retired," Sosa said Wednesday. "Definitely, I am going to make that announcement when it's time. My agent (Adam Katz) wants me to wait a little bit more. Sooner or later, I have to announce that."

No matter how his career ends, Cubs' legend Ernie Banks hopes that Chicago fans will welcome Sosa back into their family.

"It's going to take time," Banks said. "Maybe there is a possibility with everything changing and new leadership—new owners and stuff. I'm going to try to bridge that gap a little bit. Try to have him come back and throw out the first pitch and possibly sing 'Take Me Out To The Ball Game.' That would be a good start." [READ]
